A couple times each year, Midwestern Council dedicates a full track day to training new drivers. These events feature great student per instructor ratios, plenty of track time, online training, and even optional classroom training.
At these schools, you will be taught many of the details required to have decent lap times and stay safe. Our full day schools are focused on people just getting involved in the sport but if there are openings, we will take experienced drivers looking for more track time.
Because our full day school is designed to be our clubs best on-track value, we do require that participant be members of Midwestern Council. If you are interested in attending the Autocross school and registration is open, use the link below to sign up. You don't need to be a member to start the registration process but you will need to be one before we confirm your participation at the school.
Mini-Schools are held at every one of our competition events and they don't require any special registration. Regardless of your racing experience, if you have never raced with us before, we will put you in the Novice group. (Novice only refers to you not having experience with us and not to your driving skills). We give this group a little more attention to help them thru the day with minimal issues to maximize your fun quotient.
Never been on track before? No problem. Our Mini Schools are staffed by our Autocross Instructors to not only help you thru the day but to help you around the track. They will teach you car placement, car control, procedures, the racing line and a whole host of other items you've probably never been exposed to before. Most of all, they will teach you safety. Our instructors will help you safely approach your performance limits.
If you've raced before but this is your first competition event with us, you will be placed in the Novice group. Please take this opportunity to become familiar with the people and our procedures. You could even use this opportunity to put an instructor in your car during the event to help fine tune your existing driving skills.
